April is Autism Awareness month, so all month I’ll be blogging about autism. You’ll learn about what autism is, the early signs of autism, different treatments and therapy that can help, resources for parents whose child was diagnosed, and places where you can find support.
I’ll also be reviewing products that can help children in the autistic spectrum and, thanks to some generous sponsors, there will be some fun giveaways as well!
As a thank you for your participation, I am giving away a Flip Ultra 120 minute video camera.
(Flip Video is not a sponsor of this giveaway and I have no affiliation with them.) This is a fantastic pocket video camera that will allow you to capture all those cute moments of your children. It’s also a great way to track the progress of an autistic child.
To enter, I will give you a question everyday during the event that will be posted here. Just leave a relevant answer to that question and you are entered to win! For an additional daily entry you can tweet one of the tweets below:

I learned how common autism actually is with children.
I’ve learned so much about Autism as I’ve never been exposed to someone with Autism before. Something new that I learned from Jacob’s story was that Autism can just hit anytime without warning. Something interesting I learned is that there are many talented autistic artists. Thank you for the Autism Awareness!

I was amazed and shocked to learn that 1 in 110 children can have autism

day 29: I learned that not all children who are autistic will have the same difficulties and there’s not one certain “thing” that can treat each child. I didn’t know about a lot of the sensory processing disorders; especially about not showing pain when hurt or not liking the feel of certain materials. Overall, everything you’ve posted has really helped me to better understand the disorder. I think having a better understanding of autism will help me be more open with my friend who has an autistic daughter. Before, I didn’t really know what to say or what questions to ask her.
I learned that autism has a greater impact on boys than girls. Thanks for the contest!
