April is Autism Awareness month, so all month I’ll be blogging about autism. You’ll learn about what autism is, the early signs of autism, different treatments and therapy that can help, resources for parents whose child was diagnosed, and places where you can find support.
I’ll also be reviewing products that can help children in the autistic spectrum and, thanks to some generous sponsors, there will be some fun giveaways as well!
As a thank you for your participation, I am giving away a Flip Ultra 120 minute video camera.
(Flip Video is not a sponsor of this giveaway and I have no affiliation with them.) This is a fantastic pocket video camera that will allow you to capture all those cute moments of your children. It’s also a great way to track the progress of an autistic child.
To enter, I will give you a question everyday during the event that will be posted here. Just leave a relevant answer to that question and you are entered to win! For an additional daily entry you can tweet one of the tweets below:

I learned a lot about dealing with young children with autism and that ToysRUs is really active in this effort. I would love to know more about dealing with teens with autism. My friend has a son who is 13 and has autism.

I’m following you on Twitter. (My Twitter name is @ThriftyJinxy)
I learned that companies, such as Toys ‘R Us are marketing products directly to families who have children with autism. I think it’s great.

What causes autism? Unfortunately no one really knows. Genetic and enviromantal factors might have something to do with it, but as of this posting there is no evidence of what really causes it. One thing is for sure, it has NOTHING to do with parenting skills.
