I usually pass on book reviews. With two kids, it’s hard for me to devote the time to let me get engrossed in a book even though I do love reading. However, when I came across the opportunity to review The Survivors Club at The Product Review Place, I jumped on it. This is totally my kind of book. Since it’s made up of stories on people who survived some pretty crazy things and the science behind why they survived, it was easy to read part of it everyday while I waited for my son to get out of school. Here’s my review.
The Survivors Club by Ben Sherwood is a very interesting read. Have you ever wondered how people survive plane crashes, being attacked, getting hit by a car, or even survive a knitting needle through the heart? The author not only interviews survivors, but goes into great detail about why they survived. Sure, sometimes things are out of your control…but not always.
There’s a certain place to sit on a plane to up your chances of survival in case of a crash. There’s ways to make it alone in the middle of the ocean until help arrives. There’s even ways to help improve your luck.
Some of the statistics will really surprise you. What would you say is the place place to survive a heart attack? An emergency room right? Nope!
At the end of the book, there is a website that you can visit to take a quiz where you find out your survivor type. My type is connector.
Since most of you are parents, I know you want to protect your children from everything. Read the Survivors Club and you will get tips and tricks on how to do your best to keep your family safe.
