Last night I was looking for something to watch after Two and a Half Men. I have no idea how that The Big Bang Theory gets so many viewers. That show is absolutely horrible. Anyway, I was flipping through the channels and came across a PBS show about the Donner Party. What a tragic story! I’m kind of embarrassed that I have never heard about this before. Maybe I did in History class at some point, but who can remember all the stuff they teach you? Besides, I don’t think you can truly appreciate this story as a teenager. I became completely engrossed in it. I really recommend watching it if you ever get a chance, however don’t do it right before you go to bed. I don’t think it’s good to go to sleep after just listening to stories of cannibalism.
And…..LOST is back on tonight! I’m so excited! I hope they start off the show off with a shirtless Sawyer.
Any other Lost fans out there? I know there has to be some. It’s been so long since it’s been on so I have to watch the recap episode.
Enjoy your TV tonight!

I agree, with the big ban theory. I don’t see the big deal. Apparently the show won some kind of TV award as well. I don’t know what Donner Party is. I’m going to have to google it.

So true that we don’t appreciate the things like this when we are young as we do now. Too bad we learn all of this stuff when we were young. I think it would sink into our brains much better if we learned it as adults.
I can’t believe I’ve never been to your site before– what fun!
Actually, I do know about the Donner party. Not because I’m a dork and prefer the History Channel to all other TV, but because of the old Robin Williams movie, “Patch Adams”. There’s a scene where he’s playing with a skeleton in anatomy class or something, and says, “Donner, party of four!” Yes, I know, I’m hopelessly nerdy.

I’ve never heard of the Donner Party either. I don’t usually watch t.v. but that might be worth watching.
The Donner Party was that family that went across the mountains in the snow and had to eat each other to survive, right? Yikes – the things they taught us in school!!!
Thanks for visiting my Balance Beam! :-)
Yep that’s right!
Honestly I can’t say I have heard of the Donner Party. I will have to look it up and read about it. I have an award for you on my blog.
