I think this is crazy. This goes along with the whole 'coddling the kids helicopter parents' thing. We can't keep everything away from our kids. We need to teach them right from wrong.

With the internet, etc, kids are bound to stumble upon stuff like that. Banning isn't the solution. Parents should explain these things so the kids don't hear their friends' version first.

I don't support book banning. And definitely removing a dictionary is ridiculous. We can't shield our children from everything but we can arm them with knowledge to understand and deal with things they may encounter.

Not a fan of banning books... knowledge is power. Better to know the facts. Have a wonderful weekend.

What is this world coming to, when no one can't express themselves freely without causing someone to have their panties in a hunch. Parents need to explain to their children these things, so in case they come accross stuff like this, they won't come as a shock. At least be ready for this stuff, but to ban it? I doubt her child stumbled upon "oral sex."

I remember purposely looking up bad words in the dictionary as a kid. I think that is a right of passage into puberty. I don't believe in banning books. I believe we should have an open enough relationship with our children that we can discuss the issues with them.
