So Juliet had her eval for Early Intervention yesterday. They were here for two hours! I was completely drained by the time they left. You would think I would be used to it after all I had to go through with Jake.
Anyway, she was really good the whole time. She was very social with the people that were here, and played with all the toys that they asked her too. She does qualify for services because of her language. When Jake was a little one he actually had quite a few words before he went into his own world at around 15 months and then stopped taking for a long time. With Juliet, she hasn’t really said anything. She does babble a whole lot though. It seems like she’s trying however. She’ll bring me a ball or a blue crayon and say “Baa”. I always miss out on the cute toddler talk.
I’m hoping she starts soon.
So here we go again with speech therapy. For now she’ll be getting one hour every other week. I’ll let you know how it goes!

Brittany has a few words that I can clearly understand. I have Birth To Three come and evaluate her every now and then. Dakota had a few words at 10 months and then he started regressing. He finally started talking after 3. Then in Kindergarten he speech regressed again. I hope that speech therapy goes well for Juliet.
Thanks!
We worried about our youngest when he was a toddler. He had difficulty with his speech. I kept reading to him and correcting the words he said but his speech actually improved when he started kindergarten. All kids are different; some learn at their own pace.

Both of your children are adorable. I know from friends that are dealing with autism that it’s a tough journey but one that can be traveled when you have strong support. I know with the right speech pathologist Juliet will do great, especially since she has such loving and hands on parents at her side. That so makes a difference. I have a 7 year old son, Chaz, that has been in speech therapy since before he started kindergarten. Up til that time I was about the only one that understood most of what he would say. I called our county board of education before he even started school and they had him tested and evaluated and discovered the problem. He loves his teacher and is doing so much better. My family talks to him on the phone when they call and can completely understand him…such a joy!!!
Thank you so much for dropping by my place, Southern Ooaks. I do hope that you will continue to come visit. Happy Friday Follow!!!
Hugs,
Regi

Your little cute girl is quite very young to speak maybe you have to wait because children are learning with themselves on what they see, what they hear and what they feel..

This is an interesting subject, I really wonder how could happen such a thing to a kid in this age. This sounds pretty new to me, unique subject though. Thanks for sharing.
